I'm broke, have no fab skills (This means welding together the vice grip DIY tool is not an option), and need a bead roller to roll some 2.5" intercooler piping.
What do i buy?
I keep seeing mention of a $99 HF bead roller on the internets, but then all i can find on their site is a $200 unit. Eastwood has their Economy model for $145 to my door that i will buy if i absolutely have to, but i'd prefer to go cheaper if there's something out there i'm missing.
Lay it on me.
(To clarify, by "broke" i mean "I'd like to spend $100 or less, but if there's TRULY no other option out there, i will buy the Eastwood unit.")
Find somebody to weld up the vice grip tool for you.

I have bead roller. But I agree with the above.
Can't you buy a vice grip bead roller?
When do you need the vicegrip thingy by? I could weld you up one for price of materials and ship it to your door. It just may take a little while and you'd have to let me know which Version you like best.

By the GRM Challenge would be great. Anything sooner would be a bonus.
Don't go out of your way just yet, i've got a couple places i haven't really scoured yet for an actual setup, which to be honest, i'd prefer, but pre-challenge budget crunch is in effect as usual.
I'm agonizing over this thing or the Eastwood vice mount setup: http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS+Performance+Products/555/80083/10002/-1
How often do you really think you'll be using it to justify the expense?

That's a good question and a large portion of what i'm agonizing over.
So far definitely:
1) mndsm's MX6
2) My current MX6 (and the one that replaces it if i "rebody" it.)
3) my 93 Miata (which will require some beading for the custom coolant lines that will need to be done as well)
And then i know i have friends that could make use of it. There's a local Miataturbo guy that's going to be starting on his build soonish, and i'm selling a built 1.6 to a buddy who then wants to boost it. I shouldn't really use them as much sway as to whether or not i buy one, unless they want to subsidize the purchase, though.
Rent it out for $20 a pop and you've got something going.
Or spend $20 on modifying vice grips to do it.
