I have (had?) a Pioneer DEH-X4600BT or summat in the Dodge van. It was okay. I think it gave up the ghost (distant possibility that there are other issues, but I'm guessing both door speakers didn't simultaneously give up, and they seem to have sane values at the receiver end of the wires, but it's been months since my last troubleshooting round... I get a little sound through one dash speaker.)

I was thinking of just buying another of the same, as for $90 I'm sure it'd just plug into the same adapter and even the same mount and take five minutes. Five minutes good. Time and effort on ratty van bad! I already need to replace the blower motor and resistor, and recover the headliner. Two more issues and I'll be shopping vans.

BUT: two things.

1: Anybody have a cheapass bluetooth receiver they really like? Less crappy for similar money would be good.

2: Anybody have a recommendation for a slightly less cheap one with a backup camera monitor built in? I have a cheapo camera mounted to the license plate frame, but haven't gotten around to wiring it up to backup light power or the cheapo monitor there's no good place to mount. Having a dedicated monitor would remove one more time/effort suck to finishing that job.

I'd have thought this'd be covered by now, but a little GRM-specific Googling turned up nothing obviously applicable...

I went with the Pioneer AVH-x3800BHS. It's double DIN. Backup camera feature works nice with my $19 camera over the license plate.

Thanks! That sounds about perfect, but I think I was probably being optimistic to think I could get a usable screen in the single DIN opening I've got. Really, who wants to back up a van squinting at a 2" screen?

It's not a pretty van, and I should probably just suck it up and come up with a functional mount for the cheapo screen I picked up with the camera.

I have seen single DIN units that have a pop out/up screen before .... not sure if they are still made, but the ones I saw were at Wally World, so not expensive
