No, not a Repo Man reference.
What does the hive think of the previous generation Malibu? I always thought they looked pretty nice, but I've never even sat in one, let alone driven it.
But this looks like a nice car for the money.
Thanks!

Funny you should mention Repo Man. My Pandora played Pablo Picssso by Burning Sensations the other night. It got the thumbs-up.
Those cars are pretty much at Camry and Accord levels nowadays. They are just domestic appliances.
I can't see an issue with one as a DD.
Yep, domestic appliance. Not up to the standards of the Accord or Camry, but not a bad car. Perfect rental car type vehicle. Drive it, beat it, ignore it, get from point A to point B. Had them as rentals and, well, frankly, I hardly remember much about them...guess that says it all.
Cheap, reliable, uninspiring. The 2.4L is better on gas, more reliable and easier to work on than the V6. Avoid the ones after '12 as they were a step backwards. GM decided that the best place to shrink a midsize sedan was to cut 4" out of the rear seat legroom.
Mom has one. It's got a nice ride. Hers is a V6 it has adequate power. Nice relaxed throttle. It's been reliable. Nothing sporty or inspiring at all to drive. Reliable, comfortable and quite.
Only one I've driven was a 4 cyl 4 speed auto, and it was so slow that I was motivated to try to measure 0-60. I averaged something between 11 and 12 seconds. Probably fine for an appliance, but if you live in an area with a lot of aggressive drivers, it could get a little hairy.
EDIT: otherwise, it was a perfectly fine appliance car. I didn't really have any other big issues with it.
I had a 2006 that was given to me that I soon sold. It was a nice appliance, but do not expect a single sporty gene in it's design. The V6 is peppy and the auto is accommodating, but the steering lacks any feedback, understeer is designed in, and the antilock brakes try to push your leg back through your pelvis if you brake even moderately hard. I hated that car
the 6speed auto helped the drivabilty of the 4cyl quite a bit, it was an option. The later 2.5 (2013 i think) had another 30hp and was a much better car.
