1990 C-1500 2WD automatic 350 cruise intemittent, blue.

Issues with my wipers, won't intermittent, sometimes won't shut off, usually doesn't listen to me yelling at them.  Issue is the Park Board.  The one Napa and everyone else wants to sell me looks like the first image, what I pulled out of the hole is the second one, about 2X4".

I found the second one by Dorman, but they say it won't fit my vehicle; agreed, theirs has four pins, mine has five.

Suggestions?

Go to the GM store.  Dorman is crap.

Yep, this happened on my '04. The part is called the  Wiper Motor Pulse Board Module.

You'll see it under the trim under the wipers. Five pins is right, $27 on rock auto.

In reply to Streetwiseguy :

+1 for dorman being crap.

GM store will probably say it is discontinued.

My 1990 S10 with intermittent wipers gave me fits for a year. First symptoms were wipers wouldn't turn off when I told them to.  First it was the pulse board. That fixed it for about a month. Then the switch went. Then finally the motor itself. Works fine now, though it rains maybe 5 times a year here so its been a while since I tested them.

The circuit boards usually work fine until they are damp, so if you only use the wipers when its not raining, you should be fine...

My GoogleFu and too much time at the NAPA counter has failed.  Everyone wants to sell me the C shaped unit, the smaller square unit is available but with only four pins where mine has five; I assume for intermittent wipers.  The search continues, I don't mind buying a whole new motor unit if it works, but they all have four pins (mine's got five).

Thanks for the help, Dan

The GMT400 trucks are notorious for the wiper circuit board problems. I pulled mine out and re-soldered it, no further problems for years, and I'm barely competent with a soldering iron.

The broken connection on the board was clearly visible.
