Hey!
I recently moved and also went through a break-up, and the now broken-up girlfriend was the one with the truck. I am down to not having a tow vehicle and I have four motorcycles I need to move from my old place in the burbs (Buffalo Grove) to my new place in the citeh (Andersonville).
Would any of us fine fine people have towing capacity that I could take advantage of, and repay with fuel, steak, and whiskey?

I've rented full size pickups from Hertz, ect in the Chicago-land area for about $100 a day on the weekend before. They don't have a hitch but if you can fit them in the bed, that might work.
I think uhaul rents f150s for $20? Sorry I can't be more help (in CA).
Home Depot as well. Though loading up into the truck instead of trailer can be a pain.
And...what about the ex girlfriend? You guys on speaking terms?
Welcome to the city. I live in Ukrainian Village.
Wish I could help you with a tow vehicle. Are you on the Chicago SCCA or TSSCC facebook groups? You could ask there.
I don't have a truck (unless you can squeeze one in the back of a 1st gen 4Runner) but I'd be happy to help load up, etc...
Could you get a few people together and ride them out, or are we talking projects?
They're ridable but need to be roadworthy-ized. Batteries charged, tires inflated... The Ducati needs fasteners on the bottoms of the fairings, which I realized I forgot to put on when I moved, but that takes five minutes. The Bandit was flooded at the end of the year and I don't know whether it will start.
What about just renting a standard U-Haul truck? They have a ramp built in.
Only problem is that you really have nothing to strap down to.
Home depot rents pickup/sprinter vans for $15-20 per 90 minutes.

I have a minivan and also have access to an F150 that is setup for a trailer, no trailer though (and unfortunately it is quad cab short bed, so 1-2 bikes max would fit back there). Live in the southern burbs.
I also have a motorcycle license and could help ride them somewhere if you go that route.
May have some time this weekend - PM me if you like.

Bucktown here!
BTW, let me know if you know of any places through the grapevine that are available starting in August or September for less than $2k a month with a parking spot or permit parking.
End tangent. No help to you, lugnut. Sorry about that.
