I think the harmonic balancer on my corvette is on its way out.  The job appears to be a bit more than I want to tackle by myself so i'm looking for a recommendation for somebody that can do it for me.  I have reached out to speed inc for a quote and am waiting to hear back but was hoping for 1-2 other recommendations to get an estimate.  I could ping blackdog but they are like 45 min plus from my house which means 3+ hours in the car to drop it off and then go back and pick it up.

I can recommend my good friend's shop in Mundelein - Race Consulting Agency. That's not very far West though.

For someone who has never owned a Corvette, I seem to have too much knowledge of these.

Castle Chevy - the Elk Grove one, unfortunately not Villa Park - used to have a very experienced Corvette guy, I think his name was Andy or Elvis. I would call and see if he is still there.

Quick online search led me to threads (Thread One)(Thread Two), on the Corvette forum. Looks like Andy is the guy at Elk Grove Castle Chevy, Elvis or Kevin is at Libertyville. They're also touting someone at the Naperville Chevy dealer and the Crystal Lake Chevy dealer.

i forgot about D&M, i sent them a request for quote to see if they are willing to take on the job and an estimate of what they would charge.

thanks, hoping to find a non dealership to avoid the very expensive labor rate the dealership charges for said job...  also the factory part is a known failure point and a dealership that is only willing to use factory GM parts means this will just happen again.  preferring a performance shop that can install an upgraded part (powerbond or ATI) so it's over and done with.

as a follow up to close this thread.  I ended up with Speed Inc in Schaumburg.  D&M never returned my request, RCA was super responsive and provided a competitive quote but was much further away from my house.

Thanks for all of your help.
