went to a small car show on sunday. it was about a 3/4 of an hour drove out side of edmonton. cool little town with all the cars lined up on the main street. a lot of hot rods, and a few odd ball cars that looked out of place. i took pictures of the odd ball ones.
and one of the coolest hood ornaments i have ever seen, and i have not seen that many.

What is that red coupe ?
the red coupe was a skoda. imported into canada in the 80's it has a 1200cc engine in the back. five speed. i had never seen one before either, was really cool.
The Skoda coupe was known as the Rapide -- likely the biggest misnomer ever. It was based on a sedan. I never drove one, but like Ladas and Dacias they hold a certain appeal to me.
I remember that all the Eastern-Bloc cars sold in Canada seemed to have smelly plastics that seemed to weep some sort of film all the time.
