WOW!
I had a friend selling his car and he received a bad cashiers check (about 3 years ago) from an online scammer. He was going to wire money to a shipping company until I talked him out of it. Almost cost him $1,500. The check came back from his bank 10 days later. The scammer who sent it was livid! It was funny as hell.
I almost got scammed too!! I found the Motorcycle on Craigs list and this is what he sent back. 1st E-mail - Hello and sorry for the late reply. Hope I'm not too late and you didn't already purchased another bike. For sale is my 2007 Kawasaki Vulcan in immaculate condition with only 1,885 miles, rust free, no scratch and hasn't been involved in any accident. It has an 1552cc engine. This bike needs nothing and comes with a CLEAN title. I want this transaction to be smooth and I don't have much time at my disposal to waste my time with endless discussions. I believe $2,400.00 (not negotiable) is more than a fair price. You can reach me at (605) 593-5477 or you can email me if you are interested.
Thank you, Lt. Col. Drake, Nicholas

I then called him. Got an army voice mail? Never got a call back. I asked for some more info like a VIN# and how he would like to work the deal. This is the 2nd E-mail.
The bike is at Minot AF Base, North Dakota, where i am currently stationed, until May 29, when I will be deployed to Afghanistan. This is why I must sell it before that. Shipping won't be a problem for me. I will take care of that, with no costs on your end. This is a large amount and I would like to conduct the deal using an authorized third party like eBay using their Purchase Protection Program, so this should eliminate any trust issues. They will keep a deposit until the purchase is final, and you test and accept the bike. If you will not get the bike as described, and also a clean title you will receive your money back. To be able to use this program you need to qualify. I have been approved 3 years ago and I was very satisfied. So, if you are interested in buying my bike just let me know your name and shipping address. I will forward them to eBay's protection program and wait for the approval. The ad generated a great deal of interest and people have been calling me non stop and the line was down for a while.
The 3rd and forth e-mails the next day was from what LOOKED like E-bay. Saying I had been approved to buy this guys motorcycle. It asked me to send Money Gram to "Elliott Mathis" Who is an E-bay Rep. After sending it fax these numbers 1 (408) 904-5901 or +1 (408) 490-2779 with the recieat. This E-mail looked real. Do not fall for it.
I BACKED OUT and the Seller NEVER called me. The bike was NEVER listed on the real E-bay.com. I never got a VIN # to check to see if this bike was real or who owned it.
If your on this comment trend your already in the scam. I hope you didn't send your money. I will also post this on Craigslist to help others.
