Im looking at clear coating my VW beetle project and im not sure what kind of clear to go with. Any ideas?

I always wanted to get a hold of the clear they use on Airstream trailers.

You don't want the Diamond clear it will not hold up well at its not chemically cross linked. uncross linked will scratch easily and peel at the edges over time. Fortunately Eastwood sells this 2K use it instead.

That 2k stuff looks good except it only comes in a spray can.

not sure I would leave it just clearcoated. I remember seeing steel bicycles with just clear coat start to rust beneath the clear

I have seen some people having issues with that but cant recall ever seeing it on a car.

I striped my Ghia and let it rust-to-perfection, then clear-coated it with brush on all-weather satin urethane deck paint.

Lasted for years, the rust never progressed beyond that perfect point.

I've used POR-15 clear with excellent success on metalwork that's sat out in the weather permanently. Too bad it's so damn expensive.
