I want to buy a jacket from the 80's and cruise around to "the power of love" in my Celica, simply because it is often mistaken for a delorean.

There are no good looking OEM rims, but I have some on my Celica...

I think that a clean example of a hum-drum malaise-era car (especially one from the early to mid 70's) is just as interesting as a new exotic. At this point, they are more rare than a new exotic.

I love brown paint on any car no matter what, but especially sporty cars. I know that is weird, but it is also not the first time I've heard that.

Despite what people say, I still maintain the ethos that it's better to go fast than look good. Fortunately, that's not an unpopular opinion around here.

After working on other peoples stuff all day, i have zero desire too work on my own.

I don't really like cars very much. I would never own a car that was too nice to beat the E36 M3 out of. My wife has one. Not me. I don't want a beautiful car. I like building and modifying machinery. I like driving. I like racing. But if it wasn't for recreational driving, I could care less if I ever did it again. I'd be just as happy with a motorcycle, ATV or jet ski. Or a helicopter.

I did 6 months worth of research to build and tune a megasquirt system, I had everything in my cart and ready to checkout. Instead of checking out, I bought t-boned ls400....

I really like my ebay coilovers.

You and I might also be the same person. The malaise era has something special about it.

I love anything that came factory wide body. I love anything with a rocket bunny kit.

I'd rather spend the money (if I had it) on an imported R32 than on a newer coupe/sedan.

FlightService thinks: I can't see a white 90's bronco and not think about driving down the interstate at 40 mph. The Juke and Murano make me sad. I sometimes make fart sound the rear end of an import, but a "psst" to a WRX. Once in awhile, I tell a new Hyundai and Kia "You will never be a Honda" to its face. I openly love wagons. I prefer the blatantly stolen design of some JDM Diahatsu, to the original design of most Mercedes.

Wow, I guess you have a pretty short commute and don't do much night driving?

I like hopped-up modern economy cars. Problem is that it sort of makes me an outcast. Most "car guys" my age(71) are into 50's and 60's vehicles and the ones who would appreciate the car think I should be home sitting in my rocking chair.

Agreed. I probably couldn't even tell you what make they were if presented to me.

I also have next to zero interest in Ferraris, Zondas, Konigseesggesggsegseggggs, or Lamborghinis. Exotics in general are just something i don't care about.

Porsche and Noble/Rossion are about as fancy as i get.

Grew up in the malaise era - those cars do nothing for me and yet, I haven't seen a car somebody couldn't make interesting.

Exotics or pre war stuff don't do much for me. I get excited seeing a Miata w/hard top, Frisbee Twins or an El Camino on the road.

correct, sir! also i have one heck of a great battery. My commute is only a couple miles, i get home long before sunset.
