That's just figuring how fast the tires will spin at redline. By that calc my Yugo will do 106 mph, more like 85 in reality.

Yes, but with sufficient application of horsepower, we tend to ignore things like frontal area and wind resistance
Their math doesn't really coincide with my observations, and I question how accurate their tire size calculation is. It says my SC should be able to hit 127 in third, but it doesn't get much past 110-115.
What a waste of bits. I have an easier way.

It's shaped like a brick. It's the size of a house. It flies. What more do you want?
Those things are why some ZX2 drivers say/think that their car will go 150 mph.
I made up a chart for my ZX2SR by driving the car at 2K rpm in each gear. noted the speedometer reading, then using the ratio in each gear, I extended the speed to various rpm. Was this valuable ? Not really.

With the new gauge cluster in my 'rolla, it will now reach 180mph!
Pshh. 1.8 SOHC Eclipses could do 170!
I feel old now saying this, but... remember 85mph speedometers? I had a car with one that would run out of speedo shortly after running out of 2nd gear. And one of the imports out there (XR4Ti?) got around it by using a "full scale" dial but leaving the marks past 85mph un-labeled.
211mph top speed for the 93 Miata.
183mph for the Escort.
155mph for MX6 right now, new trans will give 166mph.
The MSM, i'd have to rev to 8000rpm to get to 60mph in 2nd. Ugh.
Anyone else care to ride with me in a 40 year old pickup at 163mph ?
It may even go 150 but good luck holding on!
It has a straight bar 85mph no way to wrap it. I've wrapped several C10 speedos though. I've had a 4x4 1ton dually to 116 and it was scarier than my Camaro at 140 anyday. This calculator is not real world friendly.
Wait, I can do 152 in reverse? More seriously, it predicts 97 in fourth, which is 17 more than I dare in the rattle trip.
It's only predicting outlandish reverse MPHs because you guys aren't putting in your reverse gear. Mine are all in the 40-45mph range.
