It doesn't get much more real than this.

COTA in a Ferrari

There are some interesting aspects to this track. That uphill front straight with falling away left hander looks interesting.

The local BMWCCA was putting out feelers for a track day there sometime in the spring. Not sure it's going to happen, but the prospect of it is pretty exciting.
Oh, and my wife just bought me MotoGP tickets. I'm such a lucky man.

This is definitely gonna be interesting! Looks like a challenging layout, and I'm betting with those long straights and the fact its in texas, the teams are glad the race is in november and not July! Findiing a way to cool a motor THAT high-strung, at WOT, for that long, in potentially 110degF ambient temps, without having radiators the size of barn doors would not be an entertaining proposition to say the least...

Just watched Mario do a lap in his old F1 car. Austin's new track looks wide, fast, and fun. Plenty of passing areas and long straights to get 'er really wound out. Can't believe they got it all built in about a year.

That's what I meant when I said it looks real to me. The last time I was out there the track itself was mostly graded dirt and the buildings were framework.

Looks a whole lot different now.

As badly as I want to see a real F1 race I opted not to go this year just due to the road issues. I've not seen any pics or write ups about how they've changed or worked on them. If it stays as it was when I was there last then you'll have a traffic jam for miles down the toll road. They have limited access to the main feeder road and limited room to modify what's there.

I may have to just drive by and park to get me some aural gratitude.

The reaction to the track in this thread is really different then the one in this thread.
