Found this gem while searching for dakota verts.
I understand the low mileage and good condition, but this was really just and appearance package on a utilitarian truck. It only made 5 hp more than a stock dakota that year. I may be cheap, but I dont see that truck being worth more than 8k and I wouldnt give more that 5k.
I think you might be under estimating the value of Shelby Dodge cars and trucks they are going up in value. This looks to be a nice example, and it is white most were red as I recall. Still on the high side but not a bad price.

That's a crackhead price for sure. It might be worth half that, to the right collector who's searching for one. MAYBE.
I did not even know they existed. A cool ride for sure. I have no clue if the $$$ is right or not.

It's high, but those are rare as unicorns. Nice clean one at that.
Just because they're rare doesn't mean their worth alot.
Edsel's are rare too.
Price is higher then giraffe nuts, but then again, how many have you seen in person? I think I have seen maybe 2. And that was when they were NEW at the dealerships.

Holy crap that's funny! I've not heard that one before. I said that to my wife and couldn't get it out because I was laughing so hard.

psteav is right. I'd say it's worth ~$12k to the RIGHT PERSON, and not even close to anyone else.
I had the opportunity to work on one in MUCH better shape (i.e. it had 500 miles and was in storage at a museum) and i dont think THAT one was work 30k either.
Crackhead price is correct.
Also, at 1500 produced, that would actually be the LEAST rare of the Shelby Dodge products (or tied with one other at 1500). A few were limited to 500, another to 750, etc.
I have a factory-stretch new yorker limo that's one of 204 ever made.. Far rarer than ANY of the shelbys. Does that make it worth anything? Hell, i took apart a 1 of ~21 car in a junkyard once. If it was worth something it wouldnt have been in the junkyard.
WHOA . . .nice looking but crackhead price indeed.
Those wheels are sooooper ugly.
I saw one about a year ago. 60k-ish miles, $7000 asking price. And I thought that was high. It might still be for sale.

I was under the impression that the Shelby Dakota was the first one that had the V8. Standard production Dakotas got the V8 in following years.
Also, 0-60 times in the Miata range.
it's not a bad looking truck... but wasn't it produced in the years when shelby really just meant a tape and stripe job?
I see them frequently enough that I wouldn't call them rare. There is a guy I see occasionally that uses his to haul scrap. Truck is beat.

You're thinking of his Ford years, post Chrysler.
The Dak was proof to Chryco that it could be done. Like so many of the Dodge Shelby's, Shelby's team did the work and Chrysler screwed him by producing better versions.

Gonna take a stab....non-CSX Shadow with a VNT?

I want to disagree with that, but it's hard to. Some people pulled high 15s out of them stock, but other people have also pulled some pretty pathetic numbers out of them, like trapping 82mph in the 1/4 mile, etc.

What the heck is a dakatoa vert?
In reply to amg_rx7:
From 1989-91? Dodge made a few dakotas in convertable form. I beleive they were all the "sport" family, but could be had in 2wd or 4x4. Cool trucks, just really hard to find a good one for under 10k now.

Yeah, aint that some E36 M3. When i FIRST started driving and car shopping around 2000, you could get them for like $1500-2k sometimes. I saw a nice one the other day, i gave him the thumbs up.
My neighbor has a red Shelby in the driveway that hasn't moved in 6 years. I ask him about it when I see him out cutting the grass or whatever, but he's pretty quiet. I wanted to get the VIN for the registry, or see if he was open to selling it, but he won't bite. Hate to see it go to waste like that.

Now there is a change. Someone Screwing Shelby! Serves him right!

Sort of cool. but not $10K cool
Maybe he's actually selling it cheap and his finger slipped on the zero key.
