Crankshaft Key Question

I'm working on putting together a Ford 302. The crankshaft I put in the engine didn't have the little square key thing in it. I have two other crankshafts that do have the key but I can't get it to come out of the slot.

Any suggestions on how to get a key out of a crankshaft?

Usually a hammer and a punch will do it.
