I made a few purchases a week or so ago at an online auction in Las Vegas, I was getting excited and backed down, yet still won the last 2 for $1400 and $1000, the total including being shipped is about $2400@ to my door.
Shipped them in by a Uship advertiser and they arrived yesterday.
The work fleet has grown, I now have 7 Crown Vics, the new ones are an 05, 06, 08 and 2 x 09s, the highest mileage is 120K with 3 under 90K, rust free desert cars that run and drive great. The burgundy 05 is a civilian vehicle the rest are P71s
The grey 09 P71 appearance package is most likely going to be my ride.
The burgundy car's hood should be able to be wet sanded out.
There's a spec racing class waiting to happen.
I didn't think the herd would be too thin for long.
Expanding the business?
Sort of, they wont be hanging out here for long
The 05 with high miles and the 05 that met with an untimely end.
In total I have now owned 29 Panther bodied Crown Vics. Including 2 Grand Marquis, 6 Town Cars and 21 Vics. I have also had 4 Caprices but they were just too old for my use.
May I ask what you are doing with them?
I'm ambivalent about Crown Vic's, but I love me some Town Car.
Work vehicles, they are for my Medical Transport business
I really loved my crown vic. Great car. Couldn't hang with it in the city though.

You, Sir, are the most interesting man alive.
Which auction was this? Dealer only or public bids allowed? I'm only 2 hours from Vegas and could use some enabling.

Sorry I couldn't be of use to you on the shipping end. Which auction did you get them from?
I love P71s, but I looked up the gas mileage once and never looked back. I would think something would be better as a fleet vehicle. BUT to each their own. Thumbs up!

Spec P71. Now that would be something to watch
My only comment would be that engine hours are a better number than miles for any gov owned vic.
Some of those cars would only get shut off to change the oil. (shift after shift where they just handed the car to the next guy.) Lots of idling sitting in a parking lot doing paperwork etc...

Am I the only guy picturing these CVs sitting outside a super sketchy motel, cooler full of ice in the back seat, waiting for the "doctor" to come out with the stolen kidney? No, just me? OK then.
In reply to chief8one: The mileage is competitive with any vehicle that can seat 6, with less maintenance and issues than most. 23 to 25 is my experience when driven conservatively. Plus the easy access for larger disabled people and the ability to carry a wheelchair makes them a great choice.
so...really...are you doing organ transport or helping the disabled get to medical appointments and such? I'm always curious about unorthodox revenue streams.
In reply to 2002maniac: This was a public auction held by TNT Auctions of North Nevada, there were literally hundreds of CVs up, along with GM and Chrysler cop cars and a few others
