Google has failed me. Does anybody know where I can get custom printed and cut large-scale static clings or magnetic-backed vinyls? I want to make some custom graphics for my car that I can attach at events but not drive around with on a daily basis. They'd be for use when parked or at low speeds on the street, not for competition, so they don't need to be secure at super-high speeds.

Multi colored? Any large format printing/sign shop should be able to.

Yeah, they'd be full color inkjet prints. Most of the shops I've looked at only seem to do small signs, like a company logo for a door or whatever, and generally only in rectangular shapes as fas as I can tell. I need something that's actually cut to the shape of the graphics.

I actually looked at that place, they don't do the kind of printed graphics I need though. My line of thinking right now is to get a roll of their thin magnetic sheet and then just stick a normal vinyl on top of it.
Seems like a lot of expense for temporary flames.
I buy magnet from dickblick.com by the linear foot and cut and paint to suit. That's what the big arrow in my avatar is. I do the same with stickers. Put them on the magnet and cut around them. I've got to do a 28" long Mazdaspeed one on Friday if it comes. They're not show car perfect by any means, but it does the job.

There is a website at meatballsplus.com that sells both magnet and static cling products printed for you or just the material. I found them accidently and have never dealt with them so have no idea about pricicng, service, etc.

It's not flames. I work on a show that covers the Japanese animation and gaming industries and related topics, and we want to do an episode about turning a car into an "Itasha," a Japanese nerd trend that revolves around covering a car in a pseudo race livery that centers around a favored character, game, or series. It's just as ridiculous as it sounds (in fact "Itasha" means "painful car"; so named for how painful being seen in one is), and that's why we're trying to figure out a way to make a setup that can be applied when attending an event or whatever but that the owner won't have to live with it permanently. We'll get a good episode out of it and will also be able to use the car for promotion at events, conventions, etc.

Yeah, that's the way I'm leaning right now. It seems like the most economical way to do things and the longest-lasting. The only issue is how to get the magnets to stick on the non-metallic parts of the car, but maybe taping rare earth magnets to the backsides of those panels might work.
