So let's say I was going to be dumb and build a street driven N/A D-series. In this case the engine in question is a SOHC VTEC ZC (basically the same engine as the Z6). What cam would you put in and what other valvetrain modifications would you do?

Bisimoto is pretty much king of all-motor single cams.

So looking at their website a Level 2 camshaft sounds like a decent cam to go with.

d-series.org is where you need to go. There is so much information on there it's stupid. I'm building a z6 this year and will probably be going with a Bisi stage 1 or 2. Just can't decide yet as I'd like to avoid tuning.

I'd also suggest onecamonly.com

I used to just run a Junk2 Stage 2 cam in my Y8. It was fine, plenty of cam for any D-series actually worth building n/a.

For what it's worth, if you want an n/a D-series to actually move, better start looking at gear modifications from MFactory. Without ridiculously short gearing, it's still going to be slow at the end of the day.

I hadn't heard of those people. Thanks for that.
