Absolutely. That has happened initially to every open wheel driver that's come into NASCAR, and probably most if not all new drivers regardless of where they came from. No reason it would be any different for her.

I'd honestly like to hear more about the woman who was in the race in '80(?). THAT must have taken some doing.
No, I don't know why they're turning right on the oval.

And for another "Women in NASCAR" tidbit, how about Denise McCluggage? She drove a Volvo (!) in the 1960 Compact Car races at Daytona, placing 11th on the road course and 9th on the Speedway event.
Her mistake, which she admitted, was that she thought Jimmy, Greg and her were driving away from Dale. He was just backing up to get a run.
Had Dale not pulled down in 2, effectively blocking that lane, I'd bet Greg would have pulled down in 3, Danica would have gone with him, and they would have been 1-2.
I thought her post race comments were exactly right. She was irked that she got snookered, but didn't blame anyone but herself. Most accurate statement: "I went in to this race looking for a top ten. Now that I've got it, I'm dissapointed." Boy, can I relate to that. Every racer can.
"When ifs and buts are candy and nuts, We'll all have a fine Christmas."
It's almost as though... Danica is a talented driver who still has a lot to learn about the specific style of racing she's in.
...Weird...

Wow, I never knew McCluggage ran a NASCAR event. Not surprised, though.
I'm the original poster....you danica defenders crack me up....listen, all this girl does is complain, she does it so much you don't even recognize it anymore and you want to instead try to blame the sports writer? Come on fellas lol! For danica, its all about perceived grievances, Any time I ever pay attention to this stupid sport that nascar has become its this minature megalomaniac complaining about "What they did to me" or "what so and so (fill in the blank) did to me" or in this case, "what they would have done to me if I had done this".. LOL. I was home sick in bed and gleefully ignored the whole cockamamie counterclockwise carnival until my wife came in and woke me up. I tuned in starting with the last 20 laps. I stayed with it till her interview and I thought, ok, this is going to be great, lets see her go with her instincts and say whats on her mind as soon as she gets out of the car and of course she lived down to her reputation as a crybaby. I find it amusing A. that some of you think she is attractive, B. that those of you fixated on her average appearance are the ones who think because we all note she is a complainer that we must all be sexists, C. that many of you can't seem to understand that noone is saying that she doesn't have talent.
