Alfas at Daytona. Had a great time with the GRM crew - You guys know how to thow party!
Thanks, David. After 5 years of being next door to the track during the event, I think it's about time.
yeah, I enjoyed watching the parts of the Michelin GS/TCR race on radiolemans' IMSA livestream that I got to catch... that last hour of racing was some very good close racing, everyone should check it out when the replay is live.
is this going to be the "GRM watches the race livestream comment thread" ?
The streaming portion can be easily watched on your TV if you have NBC Sports on a Roku (and probably similar devices)!
I can't currently get the "Main feed", but I'm able to watch Mazda's 55 in-car feed. They're hustlin' right now.
NBC re-started coverage at 9pm. And in 20 min, both Mazdas are broken. For now at least. One looks like it will be a while, since they had a fire on track. Oops.
the 10 car with Kobiashi and Alonso in it looks pretty darned good- in the lead at the moment.
I was just at the Mazda garage and there was a lot of hand shaking and hugging going on. I'm pretty confident that 77 is retired. Absolutely gutting.
Under a red flag for rain. It was just described as a "monsoon" on IMSA radio. This Floridian would call it "steady."
This in no way is a second guess of the decision to stop the race. I don't want to see wrecks.
I don't think it's going to be letting up. I wonder if they will just be calling it.
Just heard they plan on restarting at 9am.
I would not be surprised that the night rain "rules" are different than day. Night driving is really tough, and then add rain that moves all of the light around- that may be the reason for the extended red.
Yeah it's not going to let up. I've got about 900 miles to home and I'm considering rolling in the awning, pulling up the jacks, and getting an early start home if it doesn't look like they're going to go back to green.
I decided I didn't care because of Leigh Diffey and Mazda. Turned it off and haven't watched a second since then.
It's not his job to be a homer for them.
Let someone else say "Devastating and gutting".
How can it be devastating when it is self inflicted? I don't care who runs the team and who supplied many of the parts.
If Mazda won, they'd be taking all the credit. The cars failed = they failed.
As the top talking head he should know better.
Sad, as he usually does a far better job.
