Hi , my friend needs to keep his workers 6 ft from each other ,

Is there anything that can be hacked to do this?

A buzzer that beeps and maybe vibrates that they can have in shirt pocket would be great.

It's a metal fabrication shop so there is enough room , just need to keep them apart.

Thanks for your ideas

EDIT:  I am thinking of a bluetooth network or something like that ,   I guess it could be a bumper back up parking buzzer  or ?????

Hard to believe the workers can't visualize 6ft.

I told my kids if you can both reach out and touch, you're too close. This works for many, many things, and maybe even in the fab shop for the OP.

You just solved coronavirus, sibling fighting, office place romances, who shot JR, the economy, and "that kissing disease" in one pic.

I am sure they can figure out 6 ft , but when you get working your mind is on the job and some kind of beeper is like a 2x4 across the head.......

And it's not something for just his shop. but other shops may need it too

I got my kid an Arduino kit off of Amazon last year.  Came with a bunch of electronics projects.  One of them was a proximity sensor and you could change the program for various distances.  Took me about an hour to figure out WTH an Arduino is and how to hook it up to my computer, and about 5 minutes to do the actual project.

All kinds of industrial sensors you could use.   They are used for safety systems like light curtains and area guarding.  STi, Banner, Sick, and others out there.

I can sell you a sensor that would do it. Add a buzzer and power supply and done. Unfortunately they would be about $200 each, not including the power supply and buzzer.

Tell him to give them 4 foot long sticks and permission to whack anyone that is close enough.

I like that , but to really make that work you need a weed wacker with a  6 ft span !

That will get their attention !
