Quick update here: A running, working, ready to make parts Bridgeport brand full-size CNC mill popped up on Marketplace this afternoon in Asheville, a few miles from a buddy's shop. The asking price? Just $900. I asked him to take a look and to buy it on the spot if it was at all as described.
I'm not holding my breath, as that's a deal that's probably too good to be true, but if it happens I'll start a build thread.

I'd bet a dollar that I've seen the ad already. Been looking at a fairly wide range of locations for a good deal.
