I put 10 gallons in first thing. That was the 1st thing I tried.

Did you read the thread I linked completely and follow the no start checklist.

You would be better served reading a dedicated 7.3 board than here.

Doing both. That's why I've ordered a dongle. Some checks have to be done through the ecu.

HPOP oil level is about 1.75" below the very top of the case

I struck out then. Sorry. Was 90% sure it was CPS. How high should oil be in the HPOP? IIRC, that seems really low to me.

That's what I'm wondering. Left the info on the powerstroke site. Hope to get answer.

No idea what the PSD forums will say. Some of those guys know more than Ford. Many are idiots. I just did a comparo for you. Mine runs like a beast (knock on wood). Your HPOP is VERY low compared to mine. I'm less than 1 inch from the top (see comment at end)

Also notice how much of a side hill the truck is parked on. Parked in a way that would make it read LOW.

PS...I realize that top picture doesn't tell us anything about how far from the top it is. I had my finger on the zip tie marking it. I just couldn't take a picture with an Ipad using 1 hand

It's the fuel pump. No pressure. Humming along but not doing anything. HPOP is fine but I'm adding oil just in case.

No worries. It was my first thought. The diesel tech said it is very rare for a cps to create a no restart. Dunno

In reply to markwemple:

glad you found the problem. I was haunting this thread since I have a 1st gen PSD. When my cps died it did, in fact, create a no start condition. OR it would run about 2 seconds and die.
