Okay... they are super cool, and have other advantages.

I do not have a press, and the cheapest dimple die sets I've seen start around $300. I'm not sure I have $300 worth of holes that I'd want to dimple.

Does anyone know if you can buy pre-fabbed panels with dimple dies? just cut 'em to size and use them as you see fit?

I was thinking of asking a local shop what their cost would but, but I thought I'd ask you folks first.

Pick a size and just get one. That's what I did. I got the 3/4" or 1" (don't remember off the top of my head). It was about 60 bucks. I just use a big vice...

No affiliation, yada yada. Hey, Per: what's the thickest sheet metal they recommend dimpling? I don't see that info anywhere.

I was using 16 gauge for gussets.

Individual might be the way to go. What's the most common size for gussets and cage bracing? 3/4"? 1"?

I know it's very application specific, but if I were to get only one, I'd like it to be the most versatile.

EDIT - I should have read Per's other post more closely. I think 1" would be reasonable.

We used a 1 inch die for the a pillar to roll cage gussets, I'm guessing that's what your thinkig of doing. A simple way to find out is to make the panel from cardboard and cut holes in it and see what size works best for your part.

Looking at them for a variety of things.

I do have a pack of the small three hole gussets, and they are good for some spots, but I'm also looking to make strips to tie into the a-pillar.
