Looking for recs for a local shop to do some diagnosing of an intermittent issue for a friend w/ his 280z. Stumbles above 2k rpm. He's already replaced some parts and is looking to just pay vs spend the time chasing himself.

thanks!!

Wonder if any of the guys who used to run Datsun Dynamics in Vienna are still around working at other shops. They were a Z specialty shop. My buddy Chris Mitchum worked there back in the day, I'll ping him and see if he knows if anyone is still in the game.

Edit: the Datsun Dynamics owner's name is Brian Downey. He opened another shop in Sterling callled AutoExpectations about 10 years ago but I can't find any information about whether it exists any more.

I think he'll start with the Bowie shop. The cars are currently in Annapolis right now, so that's fairly convenient.

Thanks guys!

Just curious, has he checked fuel pressure while driving it? A lot of drivability problems I've seen with 280z's have been caused by rusty gas tanks.

I can pass that along. Part of the problem is that he doesn't have the time lately to troubleshoot, and would rather pay someone so that when does have the time, he can just drive them.
