As long as the turbo version is not premium gas only I would be interested.

I think the general public underestimates this manufacturer. They make some damn cool products that come with affordable price tags.

people still equate Hyundai with the Excel.. never mind that was 20 years ago

That's why this car is important.

Ok, VW double-cab pickup?

Like my STi's little brother. Love at first sight. Haven't driven one, but I will when the turbo comes on board. You could totally rock the Casbah in that thing. Did I mention I am hot for the Nissan Cube and Juke too? No lie. I like 'em weird.
At least you are consistent in your love for incredibly ugly examples of poor design.
Have to remember that the double doors on the passenger side are conventional doors, not one regular door and one backward opening door, makes a difference. The truck makers figured out pretty quick that the clamshell double doors kind of suck, my wife's FJ cruiser confirms this. The saturn, the rx8 and a bunch of others did it wrong. This might be right, might be. Still haven't driven one, but I like their style of out of the box thinking.
if you think about it.. the majority of time.. most cars drive with 1 or maybe 2 people... if you have three.. nobody wants to be behind the driver..

There is funky and there is poor design. The Aztek was poor design, the velostar funky

Actually the Aztek is incredibly practical (still ugly). The Veloster is incredibly ugly. Not as bad as the Juke or Cube but still.

I really can't stand the doors on the Veloster. If I want a coupe I'll buy a coupe. If I want a sedan I'll buy a sedan.
RexSeven wrote: I saw a Veloster on the highway today. I kind of like it from the back. But the front? Hell no! You either get the N/A version which looks like a buck-toothed hamster with its cheeks full, or you can wait for the Turbo with the Cylon grille.
I'm not terribly fond of the front, so I looked up some pics of the turbo. It looks like a largemouth bass. Other than that I like the looks of them. For the record, I hate the looks of the Juke, Cube, and Aztek.

You will buy what the marketers TELL you to buy. Resistance is futile! You will assimilate!

Well, this is a hatch, so you wouldn't be interested anyway
/arguing semantics
So this makes me wonder, since the auto manufacturers got into the habit of calling hatches 3 doors and 5 doors (who the berkeley uses the hatch like a door?), are they calling this a 4 door?
I am waiting for the turbo to come out to give it a try. I've heard that the Dual Clutch is pretty boring, but my girlfriend doesn't know how to drive a manual. If i can teach her, I am 100% manual. If not, I'l test the dual clutch to see if I like it or not. But I am with Poop, it looks amazing! I love it!

Amen brother. My thoughts exactly. Looks are completely subjective and just because it may be ugly to some and have a funky half door does not make it poorly engineered or ill conceived. It's clearly not for everybody. Automotive history has shown that the oddball cars typically don't last long and more generic, middle of the road cars do so it may not be around long anyway, in the mean time I like it.
My little sister REALLY wants one of these. After looking at it for a bit, I have to say I don't really understand all the hate on its looks. Its cute. In fact, it perfectly suites the needs of its target demographic: first new car for a young lady fresh out of college.
In other words, perfect for teh poopster

Assuming I want to.... Nah I won't go there. But yeah. I like the looks in the way that I like the looks of a 1g CRX...which I'm guessing was the perfect car for a chick fresh out of college. I wouldn't know. I was 7. Which means I'm old enough to date your sister, but not so old that it's "creepy."

So are you going to ask for pictures of his sister or not?
