I think that's the right call. Messing with vin swaps on more modern cars seems risky. For the price of that tub, I'd take what you need and sell the tub for a small profit to a local spec Miata guy.

It will be a tub, not a roller. Don’t expect any of the parts attached to it in the pictures to still be there when you pick it up.
