I can’t imagine anyone deleted it on purpose—know none of us on staff did. Ed’s gone home for the weekend, so any forensics will have to wait until next week, though. Uh.... weird.

Thread appears to have been recreated, or at least unsank, and locked. The younger Mr. Suddard is awaiting an email from op.

Wow, you all are vigilant!
Sorry for the snafu there, that thread was accidentally deleted when it should have been locked until we could get in touch directly with the OP.
Long story short, the OP is a good guy, and that was a cool thread, but it also promoted the FIRM very, very heavily. That sort of thing isn't an automatic banhammer, but does require a discussion with our company's advertising department before proceeding. We need to make sure that everybody stays respectful of our brand, our community, and the privileges of our paying customers.
I did just make contact with B13Birk, and am working hard to get his thread back online.
I even sent a Link to Gafiero.org of the Fiero it was Cool, Raised some Chassis questions though. Tom's Explanation is the Answer.
Tom, thank you very much for your explanation. It is delightfully refreshing in this day of corporate spin to get a clear and concise explanation for something that would otherwise be open to wild speculation. I'm glad GRM is alert and working to protect GRM and keep it on track. Thank you for being honest and open with us. This actually increases the brand value of GRM.
In reply to Tom Suddard :
Thanks Tom. I shot you an email. My intent was never to back door the system or advertise. I totally understand how that could act as advertisement. Im a private contractor for them so I wasn't even thinking about it from that perspective. GRM has been my go to magazine since the early 2000's. Im grateful for its leadership and focus on our grassroots community. Thank you for clearly explaining what the issue was. I will be sharing more of my automotive experiences here soon but without even a hint of The Firm involved.
Thanks for the explanation Tom. Yes it was kind of an infomercial.
@ the OP. Please don’t go all plain vanilla on us. It is not like we don’t know who you are now. I enjoyed both the content and your writing style. In fact I would hope that maybe instead of posting here the great folks at GRM would consider putting you in print in the magazine. I could see a series of articles on a whole range of topics. Combine that with the eye candy that you have access to and I can see that as some great content in GRM.
Never crossed my mind, but completely understandable. It's refreshing to have honesty, and respect in todays world.
Hey friends. My thread is back live. Same name. Same content. Now following the rules! Tom and the rest of the team were very kind and understanding of my ignorance to the forum expectations and how my thread was in violation of them. HAHA So here's to round 2!
Here is the link to the new thread: My Life as a "C-List" Driving Instructor
Onward,

Thanks for your kind words and feedback. Don't worry, no vanilla over here. The post is back up. Enjoy.

Just a thought - perhaps an easy solution would be to have the guy write a series actual articles for GRM. He wants to write, it's good stuff, we want to read it. :)
I enjoyed the article and glad that it is back.
I didn't take notice of any conflict . GRM mentions the Firm quite heavily when they are there, so he mentioned the Firm since that is where he was. Big deal.
BS
Sorry for all the confusion. I originally noticed the thread--- -which was a good read. It was sort of a commercial for the FIRM though, and we are very protective of keeping this forum clean from blatant advertising. (that's what our Shop Talk thread is for) Because of this, I had it pulled.
I had sent the O.P a PM, explaining why the thread was pulled, but I guess he didn't receive it. Glad it's back up in modified form, sorry for any inconvenience.
