A coworker of mine has a '05 Magnum R/T with a water leak. It's taking on water in the driver's side foot well. It is a factory sunroof car. They have already checked the drains at the corners of the cowl for leaves, etc., and it's still taking on water.

I'm going to take a look at it at lunch time to see if there's anything obvious. Any Chrysler techs (Vigo?) have any suggestions for specific areas I should be looking at? I'm starting with the sunroof drains and will work my way down from there.

Lower windshield corner.

Wound up working through lunch so I'll have to take a look at it tomorrow. Other than Ranger50's lower corner suggestion, I found one reference from Consumer Guide: "The front floor may get wet due to a water leak in a cowl seam near the hood hinge(s). (2006-07)"

Anybody else got a suggestion?

I don't know anything about this model. Often, however, water "leaks" into the interior of a car are nothing more than a plugged a/c evaporator drain.

Does it only leak in summer? :)

Only in the rain. Only noticed in summer (so far). Not sure which side the evaporator is on this thing. I'll take a look tomorrow.

Evap core drain is still pass side.

I have seen this once. A buddy @ the dealership had a Charger that he had to seam seal the ENTIRE PS side cowl to fix and I mean pull the fender and seal it all. He wasn't happy.

Yeah, I seem to recall that Commanders, Durangos and Magnums had a lot of cowl seam leaks. The Durangos would leak behind the drivers' kick panel right into the wiring harness, causing all manner of wackiness.

I am not a 'real' mopar tech.. ive just owned and hung out around an unusual number of mopars, and worked on most of them

Unfortunately i dont have any idea what to tell you on that one. I own a magnum but ive never so much as had an interior panel off it so i have no magnum-specific knowledge.

Ha, sounds like me. Unfortunately all my buddies that were real Chrysler techs no longer are. Some through their own career choices, some from closed dealerships.

Since we work in an office complex pulling the fender isn't really a lunch option. I'm afraid the seam sealer makes the most sense. She bought the car used over the winter. Was in the garage for the winter but it's outside for the summer. After I take a look maybe I'll just refer her to my buddy with the body shop.
