It may be the same car. In the second the car is clearly an S model, but age, neglect, and maybe an accident could have caused the bumpers to fade / be replaced.
Mk 1 Sciroccos are getting harder to find. Hopefully someone will save this one!

Yup, in GA you can send off a DMV history search for like $10 with a VIN and some paperwork and a few weeks later you'll get all the title copies made as it changed hands, assuming it was registered or title actually transferred...
Trevor sent me more information the car. i hope it still has the goodies on it he is talking about. he had 4k wrapped up in the tranny including the quaife.. the motor has had extensive work same as the suspension. the wheels are worth gold same as the grill and front spoiler. he sent me a list of wins with this car and it is impressive
i found out who the owner is and that he will sell the car and the price for the car is the number i had in mind. this is Trevor's car for sure the red one in the pictures. now all that's left to do is get her hauled out of there
Congratulations! Glad to hear it wasn't one of those "I'm going to restore it some day, no way I'm selling it" stories.

it would not of happen if it wasnt for this forum. i was blind it never occured to me to contact HRE Racing and talking to Trevor about this car got me off my ass. so i was up at 3am and drove to the car from DC got there about 6:00am and waited for someone to come out of the house next door and at about 7:30 a guy comes out going to work. i stop and ask him he gives me all the information and i went and had breakfast and then called the owner

WIN!
this story takes another turn i have been emailing Trevor the owner of HRE Racing and the builder of this car he gets all excited about it being saved and emails me his phone number it is a 724 area code. his shop is a half hour from mine in Pittsburgh where this car is going. i said see my mission in life was to find this car and return it to you. i was making a joke but his response was i will be talking to my wife tonight. so there is a very good chance this car will come full circle back to the man who built it.
now that would be cool
