Does your wife prefer to drive your car

Given the choice, does your wife drive your car every chance she gets, or does she prefer hers?

The only car that was mine that my wife went out of her way to drive ever chance she got was my Porsche 911.

My wife has no interest in driving my WRX. Even when I take her truck (it's my tow rig for race weekends), she usually will just borrow her parents' Forester rather than drive my car.

Always thought it was weird since before she had SUVs she had a M/T Mazda3, a Jetta, and other sporty-ish compacts. But she dislikes the WRX immensely for unknown reasons.

The missus would daily drive the Falcon if I let her. She is excited whenever I leave the E28 for her.

No, she has a new charger. she doesn't even want to ride in the wrx.

I don't know about prefer, but she certainly doesn't seem to mind when I need to use the Expedition and she gets the SHO. She even said "Your car is kind of fun" last week.

Nope. She hates all of my Volvos with a passion. Fine by me however I have a BMW E30 that she would take out once awhile. She is quite happy with her new Mazda CX-9 so she doesn't really bother with my cars for the most part.

Nope she's scared to death of the MS3.

She'd probably drive the Vibe once I take care of some random items in the spring.

She's already stated she wants nothing to do with the RX3 once it's finished.

Rusty plow truck maybe once I figure out where all the coolant is going.

We had a conversation the other day about the cars and came to the determination that we now own 5 vehicles and a Nissan Xterra is the most reliable of the bunch...

Nope. She greatly prefers her double wishbone to my McStrut. And she can't drive stick.

My wife does like to take the cars I usually drive. She recently reported to me that she likes second gear in the Saab "because when you floor it it zooms".

And now that we have a Miata she drove it once and wants to drive it all over the place now.

She is a super competitive athlete, but gets horribly car sick. So she hates going to autocross and riding along. Yes, she has fun for about 25 seconds but then tries not to puke for the next 25. It's that bad. I'm going to try to get her driving though...

My wife has liked lots of the cars I've owned. Absoly LOVED the mini (not Mini) and wouldn't even start the GLH. She was scared of that car. Now she doesn't like the V70R because it sits too low.

That is basically what my wife loves about our 9-3. Turbos are fun.

If I ever own a "fun" car again the answer will be yes but I keep getting her the faster cars while I drive econoboxes.

Jeez Rob, if you really loved her you'd get your lap times under 25 seconds.

SWMBO is a paraplegic with a non-functional left leg. Both of my cars have clutches. Non-issue.

My wife likes to drive my Yukon XL but hates the brakes.

She usually takes one of my cars on Friday for fun. If she didn't have to pay for gas on her 60 mile round trip commute she would happily take the CLS63 every day, but 16mpg on premium makes that no fun

Yes. She has claimed the 911 as her "fun" car and she drives the V wagon in it's place when it's the off season for the 911. The only car she doesn't like is my truck and that's because it's an automatic.

Swmbo has the better car. No need to drive a scruffy/broken 24 year old corolla when she can drive a perfectly good 3 year old nissan. I suspect the ms3 will frighten her when I get it put back together, and she's never even seen the mx6, but knowing my proclivities she does not like it.

Over the course of a few months MY e30 steadily transitioned into HER e30.

Honestly, I don't mind much because she made a real connection to that car and now understands me that much better. Sadly, it is time for the car to move on to a new owner and it has become emotional for her.

Never an issue in our house. She has a new Audi S-3 which is AWESOME in every way possible. My 2005 double-cab Toyota Tundra with 240k miles is too tall for her to comfortably climb into, she says the brakes and steering suck and its too big to park. The Rotus is too unsafe for her to even go for a ride in. The MGB V-8 runs rich and needs valve seals, so when you get done with a ride, your clothes smell a bit of exhaust. After she realized that, no more driving or even riding in that one. And finally my Miata V-8 is too loud, stiff, uncomfortable and "squirrelly" as she calls it. So basically her car is hers to drive and my toys are mine. I will never have to worry about coming home and finding out that she is out terrorizing the neighborhood in one of my toys!

My wife likes sitting up higher, so she enjoys driving her Highlander.

Every once in a while, out of the blue, she'll ask 'Can I take you car (5-speed Focus)?'. Guess she likes a car that doesn't wallow and you must use your left foot. Maybe because it's red.

Occasionally if its cold out and her car needs gas she'll drive my truck but otherwise she much prefers her car. That's not an accident. We've been pretty successful over the years in keeping her in cars that she really likes.

Her car is the "nice" one of the bunch and has the most giddyup when pushed so she drives it 99% of the time. That said, when needed she doesn't mind the Suburban and enjoyed the Miata until I ruined it by "improving" it.

We may shop for another Miata to leave unmolested as a daily for her....
