So, I picked up a set of drag slicks for the challenge. They have never been run. The previous owner mounted them and never ended up using them.
The question is, how many passes on average should a set of FWD drag slicks be good for?
I have money in the budget to run them at the challenge this year but I'm hoping to bring the car back in 2011/2012 with more power and since I feel like I got a good price on them I would rather hold them till next year than use them up this year since I'm not really going to have enough power to put them to their full potential for 2010.

I think you'll find that FWD is very much the same as RWD, but depending on brand, by Dad gets 80-120 passes on his 10.0 car.

Cool. So, no danger of using them up at one challenge event. That's what I figured but wanted to be sure since the only drag strip time I've had is at the $2009 challenge.
What size slick and how much power?
I've gotten about 5 seasons on my last set, finally replaced to change the size up.

If they are stored properly and not raced on often, they should last you years.. One challenge event is nowhere near enough to wear them out if they're new.
