lots of ways to skin a cat.
Biggest issues with on-board cameras are the following:
Operation - How easy are they to use? Can you get it working after you're strapped in? Can a crew member start the recording for you without a full training seminar?
Mounting - does it use a standard 1/4" mounting hole or is it some strange proprietary solution? Either way, are the available mounting solutions stable or durable?
Noise - How well does the microphone work? Is there an option for an external mic?
Storage - does it use a standard media format? SD? XD? CF?
Run time - how long do the batteries last? What kind of batteries are they?
Picture quality - does 1080P really make a difference with in-car footage? If so, what is the viewing angle of the camera?
