Today the family and I did the drive exotic at cresson. It was my first time ever actually driving a car on an actual race track. I am absolutely hooked. It was ear to ear grinning adrenaline rush the entire time. I drove the Porsche 911 Turbo. My instructor was an older guy named George who was incredibly helpful. My first lap was a 1:44 my last lap was a 1:22. Man what a fun time. I want to get the speed on the track someday when it's running again. I was super nervous the first lap but George talked me through it and helped me with better lines, braking, etc
Awesome. Totally awesome.

Heck yes. Had such a fun time. I will definitely be signing up for an hpde when the Mazda is back up and running.
I still remember that feeling from Day 1 of my very first HPDE about 20 years ago how. I knew I was hooked for life.

Definitely addicting. I'm excited to try it in my own car.
Sounds like an awesome time! How many laps did you get to do? Did they let you go as fast as you wanted? It sounds like it since you shaved 20 seconds off your times :) I've always wanted to try one of these supercar track experiences but have no idea which to choose.

I ended up doing 8 laps. It was the most fun I've ever had driving a car. He let me go as fast as I was willing to go, although I could see how not all the instructors were the same (just based on stuff overheard from other people there). It's crazy how much faster you get each lap.

Same here. I did one "Hyperdrive" (NASA) which was one 20 min session on track and from that day my bank account was never the same.

If you have any track experience I wouldn't recommend it. My wife got me one for my birthday last year so I could drive a Ferrari. I get that they have to deal with all kinds of people but man he had me brake waaaaaayyyyyyyy early and wanted me to coast through the esses. Just maintaining throttle well under the limit got him all pissy. Yes, you can floor it on the straights.
My exotics experience in Vegas was the same deal. Very fun, but neutered. Shifting 1,000 before redline, braking early, pointing by the slower car, and then I got held up by that Ferrari. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t as fun as possible. Then again, I didn’t die.
