I wish I saw this yesterday, I would have met you up there for the drive. We have been in Chattanooga for a bit over a week. Ran the Cherohala/ToD loop last week. Sweet drive!
You're rocking some serious negative camber in the rear. You must have quite a load of stuff back there!

Yes that's a wild and crazy road. Unforgiving too.
I feel like a parent who's kids are out late. Haven't seen a post since lunch. Do we need to send out the Coast Guard?
I built my 88 924S with the specific plan to go East Coast to west coast and back at some point. Happy you're doing it. I have yet to get the time....

Lol sorry. Made it to Newark, Arkansas. Internets are a bit hard to find round here. Staying with my grandpa and his rad collection of real Harleys:
He built this one by hand in the 70's. My late grandmother painted it.

Hattie B's proved to be a very high bar, but I'm willing to try a competitor...
How many times have you banged your shoulder while getting in and out? I had a 944 as a loaner from my indie shop for a few days, and I must have smacked myself at least five times. The door openings seem small to me. Or I have zero spatial awareness.
Awesome trip! Thanks for sharing and documenting the drive.

If you want a steak and historically significant OKC experience you need to go to Cattleman's. It's been swerving steaks for over 100 years now.
If fried chicken is your thing, you need to go to Eischen's bar in Okarche OK to the northwest of OKC. You order by the whole chicken. Most people order extras to take home, but that probably won't work for you. You will also want the pickles, so say yes when they ask. My wife and kids love their sweet pickles.
Here's the short video footage from Tail of the Dragon. I filmed the full runs on the big camera to be uploaded when we get home.
I'm a flatlander, but Hattie B's was legit as heck when I went down to nashville. Tried all of the spice levels, and couldn't get through their hottest though... I gave it a good effort.
This road trip is awesome, good luck and safe travels!
