So right before I am about to jump in the car to go and race, the zipper separates on my driving suit. Luckily, Skip Barber brings their own suits too, so I was able to borrow one. Does anyone know where I can get it re-zippered? The suit is a G-Force 545.

Thanks!

About any seamstress should be able to fix you up. Just look around. I had a zipper put in my leather jacket at a place in Houston called "Jimmy's Reweaving." There's bound to be something similar wherever you are.

Make sure that you get the correct zipper. No need to have it melt on you and leave a large opening in your fire suit. OG Racing sells the zippers, and should be able to put you in contact with Terri, who has replaced more zippers than I've sold suits. Yes, I used to work for OG. I believe that they advertise in GRM.

Yes make sure who ever does the work is SFI certified or a tech inspector could not let you use it.
I'd call G-Force 1st then OG R next.

And of course, Nomex (or other fire rated) thread should be used for the stitches. Basically, thread same as whatever fabric the suit is made of.

Find someone who does embroidery, etc (like names on uniforms) and see if they either work with Nomex/whatever thread or know someone who does.

You'll need to log in to post.
