We see salvage ones in the area for around $2500 from time to time. I doubt it would be much if any faster in rallyx, but it would be a lot more fun in most other forms of motorsport.

I was thinking of joining a chump team for a race but by the time I spent the 1k on driver equipment and about 1k for a weekend of racing I am almost there to some sort of cheap hpde/rallyx car
Is there any goto place to readup on the neon for example for hpde/motorsport setup? does it have to be an r/t acr? Ah I see the DOHC seems like a must what about 1st vs 2nd gen?
For Neons the 1st gen is what you want. 2nd gens were heavier and never did well in competition.
At this stage just finding one in decent shape is the goal. The only real differences in the acr were the struts, springs, swaybars and some lightening via removal of sound deadening and content delete. The R/T had the same suspension as the acr but could be had with a/c, sunroof, radio, etc. Really any DOHC 1st gen will work as you'll probably be changing the struts and springs anyway.
