to which I should know the answer, but obviously don't
I know that to adjust the brakes on a car with drum brakes, you adj. while backing up … is it the same with rear disks ? … just put new pads on the back of the CRX and immediately put it on the tow dolly for the trip to Road Atlanta tomorrow …
it would probably be a good idea to have actual working rear brakes when I take it out on track

Yeah, no need to back up. Just a few pumps should be good.
Some rear calipers have an adjustment screw for the integrated p-brake, is that what you are talking about?

while that's good to know, I've never owned a Miata, nor do I ever expect to

my first car was a convertible (a '65 Sunbeam Alpine) … I quickly found out that I don't like convertibles ….

Yes but the answer to every question is Miata!
No. You work the e brake while backing up. Then you do a high speed e brake test, if you do a 360 your good !

hopefully you did not like the open feeling.. as the way a sunbeam feels is vastly different from how a Miata feels

no … it's the glare … can't deal with it … I've only opened the sun roof on my Integra … maybe 5 or 6 times in the 14 yrs I've owned it …. and have yet to open the sun roof on my new Sonic

use um all the time … still doesn't stop the glare that comes in around the sunglasses … much more controllable with a roof as opposed to an open top …
Some work from normal use, others adjust by using the parking brake. Either way they don't self adjust very well if you don't pack the adjusters with grease and get them manually adjusted reasonably close on installation, and assemble them correctly.
Just buy the damn Miata man!!!
Interestingly enough, a lot of people that drive convertibles rarely drive them with the top down anyway. Besides, the BEST time to drive a convertible is on a hot NIGHT.

Amen!
(and I say that as someone who currently owns one and a half examples of 'the answer')

Grease the hell out of the moving parts on the adjuster, the threads and the cup deal on the other end, otherwise they seize up pretty fast and stop working. There's not much force exerted on the adjuster by the adjusting arm.
