I posted this on the Classic Motorsports Forum too, but since there was a fair amount of grassroots-type modern cars, I'll post a similar note here (with some different pictures)
I ran my "'69 MGB out to the Duryea Hillclimb in Reading, PA this past weekend.
320 miles in all.
Saw lots of nice modern and classic cars there.
This is the maiden voyage for the B, other than a few short trips to the local MacDonalds. It's been on the road less than two weeks.
Anyway no problems.....I didn't have to use the duct tape and vise-grips I had in the trunk.
Here are some pictures I took (below).
And ~HERE~ is a link to a lot more pictures. You may have to hit Refresh a few times to get the later ones on the link to load.
Feel free to forward to anyone who's car may be in the pictures.
sounds like a cool event and l;ots of neat pics though. thanks for sharing.
need to get back up there. So nice.
love that num. 109 datsun
A shorter version ("Pagoda") is run in June.
Do you have any more pictures of the yellow Civic?

No, but I thought that header system it had was pretty wild.
It coasted down the hill after a run on Saturday afternoon with (I think) a blown headgasket.
Didn't see any work being done on it, so I think it was done for the weekend (I was only there on Saturday).
thanks for getting some old Volks in there

The Civic is not what I would call a well prepared car. I used to compete on the hill and it would frequently break. The owner is a bit too grassroots. That car has been around a long time and I'm surprised that he actually painted it.
that was pretty cool. I love hillclimbs, unfortunately, Michigan doesnt have any hills.
quite an eclectic mixture of cars, I love the TR-7 that is similar to what I want to do with mine.
Hillclimb=short tarmac rally!

Hey aeronca65t, nice pics. My brother and I were driving the 1st gen 7's. Next time stop by and say hi.
I saw on your web page that you considered running this event. I think you got some conflicting info. If your car has an SCCA log book and had an annual tech inspection, you can register and get teched for the event on Saturday morning. It's kind of hectic, but there are people that do it. If your a novice, you have to be at the novice meeting. It's usually held at 8AM. You also need an SCCA membership and a time trials license. You can purchase a novice license at the event if you don't have one. You can also use other competition licenses in place of the TT if you would happen to have one. I don't know all the particulars on that. If your still interested in doing a hill climb, we have one in Weatherly coming up on September 13-14. You can find info and directions at

Glad you liked the pictures.
I ran into my old next door neighbour (Bob Connell, with the white GEO Storm). Haven't seen him in years and we spend all day catching up. His kid was flagging on Turn #1.
I I recognized your cars from your note last week (that's why I inlcuded them above). Next time I'll come over.
I pretty sure you're correct about the info I got. The guy in the blue Spridget got there that morning, was a newbie and registered with no problem (that's what he told me). My Escort has a NASA logbook (with '08 tech) and I have a NASA Comp license and VRG comp license. Both with up to date medicals. SInce the SCCA started recognizing NASA license a few months ago, I though it would be OK too. I'll see what I have going on for the Weatherly. I'm at NJMP the week after that and Pocono the week after that....I'll have to check with the missus.

The RX-7 pics are great except for that dag-nab-it pole in the way!
