what models of e30's typically came with a limited slip diff? did any other bmw's come with a limited slip that can be swapped in? i need to find one asap at a challenge friendly price. that pretty much means pull-a-part!

IIRC an "S" model is a pretty sure thing. ex 325es, 325is

E28's ('80's 5 series) diffs swap in.

325i models had it available as an option, and my 4 door came thus equipped. You really need to look under all of them for the tag.

my car with a 4.10 diff would probably have a top speed of about 50 mph!.......of course if you like shifting a lot this might be fun for an autocross! and it might make me safer!

Is it a swap car with an E36 trans?

Otherwise, going from the 3.73 to the 4.10 is a nice little jump that isn't too bad on the highway.

325ix cars had a viscous limited slip rather than the normal clutch type, but the drive flanges are specific to them iirc so you cant pop em out and swap if you need to. e28 diffs fit with your e30 cover on it.
