Anyone have thoughts and/or experience with this thing?
I have experience with a huge industrial scroll compressor, but it was $10K+.
They, of course, talk a good show, but Eastwood always does. The 100% duty cycle got my attention, and the $2200 price is acceptable if it does what they say, but yeah, seems too good to be true.
Tom Suddard has one in his garage. I recall he did a video about ot, with sound, so you should be able to get his take on it.
They are amazingly quiet and provide ample air. Probably the perfect air compressor except....
They have a flaw that condensation will get in to the oil system, a lot of it. Eastwood has downplayed this and says you just have to do a monthly (or more frequently)water drain and oil top up. Problem is they didn't alert us until it was too late. We called for support as ours was dumping quarts of oil in the mornings and they were like "oh yeah, there is a little issue and you have to do this once a month or a lot more often depending on your use case"
I think ours lasted 18 months. It made some screeching noises and seized, eastwood pretty much said "Sorry chumps"
Look up the condensation issue.
It's a shame, it really is the perfect compressor and at that price point it is the only thing in its class. They just got that one thing wrong.
I almost bought one until I read the problem Trent mentioned. If you do a bit of research on Youtube you will get good explanations and tons of pissed off people.
I saw a video on the milk shake issue, and it really doesn't seem like much more maintenance than any other compressor. Kind of annoying, but not necessarily a deal breaker.
I haven't been over the moon with Eastwood quality, but this would solve a bunch of problems for me. I'd like to have painting capabilities, be able to use my impact again, as well as an orbital sander, but obviously not at the same time. I'd be interested to hear Tom's experience.
Mine's been rock solid for a few years now. I'm not an industrial user, but it's quiet, makes tons of air, and still works. No issues here.

Thanks for the reply. Have you done much high volume stuff with it? Like sandblasting, painting, or running sanders?
Seems like the lack of heat generated keeps the moisture from burning off.
I wonder if there is a way to rig up a PCV system for a compressor...
