Since it looks like I'm going to have to rebuild this 4.6, I decided to look at engine kits and... Wow.

So I wound up checking out eBay, and they are considerably cheaper there. Enough to raise concern.

Has anyone here used one? How was the quality of the stuff? The seller is very highly rated, but there's no reviews on this particular kit.

It'll take a braver man than me to find out, but I'll be watching because I'm pretty curious myself.

That.  Right there.  Trust your spidey senses and go through a reputable vendor.

Imagine all the sweat and tears of going through an engine rebuild. Now imagine doing it TWICE.

Aren't 4.6's like $50 at pick and pull?

I've used stuff from https://partsology.com/ to refresh an engine in my Lemons 280Z. Mostly the same stuff you will find on Ebay.  So far I haven't had any issues and tolerances were decent for a used engine. It's only a matter of time till it blows up anyway so figured it was worth a short to same some money.

The challenge is how to discern “reputable” from “overpriced” without any background or experience?
