So today is the 10th anniversary of Big Daddys death. Apparently he said this: "We are all trying to get to heaven. Everybody is born with a talent. Use the talent. I encourage a person to use their talents to the best degree. Take the talents you were born with and use it. If somebody has a problem with it, then you say.. Man, I just know this and that's all I know, and Big Daddy told me to use it. Encourage people to use what they got. There is nothing else to be remembered for."

I only got into cars and such after he died but when i was doing research for a paper on the development of hot rod culture i ran into his stuff and I always thought it was super cool.
Id say it was partially this sort of thing that got me into cars. Those drawings display a sort of demonic power and rawness in cars that really appeals to me i guess. I want a car that is absolutely insane and is a fire breathing monster

He also built some wicked custom cars

The yellow one above, the Mysterion has never been found.

I'm glad the Orbitron was found (even though it was a garbage can outside a Mexican porno store) and restored.

I think Ed would have gotten a good laugh about the Orbitron.

If anyone here hasn't seen "Tales of the Rat Fink." I highly reccomend it. Its a great little documentary narrated by John Goodman, as Ed Roth.
