Emergency in Austin Area

My son is in Austin, TX (georgetown, actually). He just bought a '97 Jetta GLX VR6 with a 5-speed. Whilst ramping from 71 on to 130 he hit a concrete block and punched a hole in his gear box! I'm looking for some assistance in scoring a trans that he can get installed this week. We already have the garage (Arbor Auto Works in Austin). We just need some help locating the trans. There is one in the junkyard here still i think, for $250 plus shipping I could probably get ir for you. Its not going to be terribly easy to find one though, that tranny isnt that common.

Did you try Car-Part.com? There are some in Houston, Dallas and there's one in Austin too, if it is a CDM, whatever that is. I don't know VW stuff. There's like 6 listed if it's a CCM/CHN, whatever that is, and http://www.austinveedub.com seems to have a bunch.
