Cost is higher but have you considered the ford Aussie I6 turbo cross flow 4.0
If only! With the exchange rate and shipping just getting the crossflow head and the rest of the bits needed to swap onto the US block is more than buying the CI aftermarket alloy head.
I have made a decision though. I am going to sell my Vespa, the old Honda CL and whatever else I can find and pony up for the ClassicInlines head
Might as well do it right. It is cast for port injection and I can build a cool log intake with whatever throttle body I want.

An alloy headed 2.3 turbo? Not from any factory car. That sucker is cast iron. I remember my first head gasket job on one. I thought it was stuck to the block. Nope just a lot heavier than I would have anticipated.
I am a imbecile. Again... Thank you for the correction.
If you are even remotely considering a 2.3T engine, don't. I loved them but most that are left are not worth the investment or are in very nice cars.
Suggestions from the land of Mofo?
A: Cheap, easy, upgradeable, powerful, infinitely available and easy to repair? 3.8L/4.2L V6 "split port" T5 is available in Mustang or Toyo Kogyo trans in truck
B: Less cheap, easy, available (albeit not infinitely)? 2.3L MSR Ranger only available in Toyo Kogyo trans
C: Cheapest, easy, upgradeable? 3.8L NA or SC. T5 available in Mustang, bastard glass transmission in TB
D: Add fuel injection and two KKK K03 turbos from a 1.8L Passat to current engine ;)
I like A or D
One man's opinion: If you're going to be using a 2.3 turbo, don't bother with the ford. Volvo offers a much better engine/EFI package in the form of their old redblock turbos. Plenty of room to grow with 16 valve heads, bigger turbos, and megasquirt. Mates to a T-5 easily and cheaply. Probably would require the same amount of work as the ford power plant to go Volvo.
or a Volvo headed hybrid 2.5L Ford engine LOL

I am in awe of you sir. You are officially now my hero.
PLEASE POST PICTURES WHEN YOU GET IT.
I think you'll enjoy sticking with the six. It'll be the only one everywhere you go.
As a short aside - that Edsel owner posted a video out cruising around in a snow storm. I think its awesome he's using it as a daily car, but I sure hope they don't have salt there.

No salt out here ever, that is why we have so many old cars on the road.
Those wide whites must be better in the snow than my Yokohama All seasons. My falcon couldn't make it out of the driveway during that snow storm.
