He made a kindhearted announcement on his social media within the past hour. Cheers to future successes in the next stage of this thing called life.

Good for him. It's a great deal that he got to stay in a key role within Porsche to consult on new projects while still getting to wheel some of the greatest classic rides that Porsche made.

My favorite Patrick moment was at the 2018 IMSA race at Laguna Seca. I was working turn 4 there and Patrick had a CV break and because he knew the track well, he pulled off into turn 4 as there is the back gate to the paddock there. Well for the race someone changed the combo for the lock on the gate and it took us way too long to get the combo for it. So he was sitting in the car and was very patient each time I checked on him. I know he just wanted to get out and call it a day.

Just a really good dude and a great racer.

Patrick rules and just shared his post to the GRM Facebook. He's been very generous with his time over the years.

Good for him, but sad for me/us - another great guy retiring. Enjoyed watching him race for years and pulled for him. But it's how it goes (heck my favorite, Scott Pruett, left about 7 years ago)
