Ever have this service offered at your Auto-X?

The Mississippi Region SCCA is conducting an AX at Grenada airport...one of its 2 day events it conducts 5 times per year since 1987.

How's this for service from site owners in prepping course today?

Did he make a clean run?

I've been in Meridian a bunch this Spring. Should be down at least one more time in the next month or so. How far are the rest of ya? Always in/out of Jackson.

What did you think of the Grenada site?

Wife and I joined the SCCA in Mississippi in February 2002.  Great group!  We ran the fairgrounds in Jackson, Grenada Airport and the Columbus Air Force base.  Nothing like running an autocross with armed guards at the line of cones between the event and the live flight line!  We ran with the Mid-South Region in Memphis and Arkansas Region for the Tri-state challenge. We also ran with the Alabama Region at the dog track in Birmingham, and I ran some of the TLAC events in Louisiana.  Glad to see the sweeper at Grenada.  The course would start out with great grip, but would get slick as the black mold was broken up and scattered.  It's a great site and I remember doing 90 second courses!

We just missed each other although our paths may have crossed.  I was active in AX between 1985 and 1992 but then venture off into club racing in 1993.  Getting back into AX now that I'm a stroke addled  geezer.   

AX particaption has declined a bit in the area but still get 8-12 90+ second official runs then numerous fun runs.  And finished by early afternoon, loaded up and on you way home by 230 pm.

One of our regular venues is in Myrtle Beach. The amount of sand that accumulates is amazing. We have to have the lot vacuumed every spring before the first event, otherwise we would have to run a rallycross.

Why don't you guys head to real tracks instead for some 70+ mph fun? Where they don't have vegetation growing in the middle of them.

Glad you enjoyed it.  I located that site in 1986 or so and sold the city on letting us run there.  So far 32 years of continuous ax there.  Really good folks and MS SCCA has done a good job of hanging onto site.  There have been numerous national events, tri state events, pro solo etc over the years
