The problem is this changes with age.
I have had many many cars. I liked them all for various reasons.

My Chrysler Conquest Lemon's car. Stripped down to just about a bare shell, it weighs about as much as my Miata with about twice the power. No windows, side exit exhaust- it's stupid fun to drive.
For a street car, I'd have to say my Galant VR4. Something about rocketing off in a somewhat goofy, 80's looking sedan just brings a smile to my face.
I'm trying to think of something more fun than my Fairmont, and I can't seem to do it. It's just always fun (unless it's real hot out, or you try to take it on a long trip). It's fun driving through town and getting thumbs up from everyone from kids in riced out Civics to guys in drop-top Ferraris, it's fun on back roads, at car shows (no awards, but lots of questions), in cruises (at 25 MPH in first, 5500 RPM and making a ALL the right noises), and it's a blast at the track. You show up at the track with that thing, and you're a rock star. I've driven some other cars that were really fun; Miatas, Corvettes, and stuff, and there were plenty faster, but I was always happy to jump back in mine.
Driven: Cayman S with a PDK... I was never a Porsche fan before, but I can't help but consider how to get one in my life.
Owned: I've only owned one car ever, my SVT Focus. In ten years of ownership, it suffered through five years of continuous deferred maintenance, yet it's still humming along. With a new stock suspension, newish stock clutch, decent tires and pads, it feels taught and confident. Ugly as mine is, it does everything I ask it to except get more than 28 mpg on the highway. I cannot justify selling it.
A 210 hp Caterham. Of course I babied it and probably didn't even do the speed limit, since I asked a random person on a Seven forum to drive their $50k car. At least we chit chatted for 10 minutes before he tossed me the keys. Then my 90 Miata. Of course I usually have the biggest grin on my face while driving the Marquis because it's still new to me.

Update: Went to an autocross yesterday, and held down FTD(car) for about 40 minutes, until the C7 Vette finally laid down a run...that was 0.2 seconds faster than my Fairmont. :)
My 86 MR2 probably, followed closely by the 93 Si I had through college. Neither are terribly fast, but tossable goes a long way.

Are you talking about a Ford Fairmont?? Seriously!!
Tie between my 89 toyota 4x4 and swmbos boosted mr spyder. For vastly different reasons, one i got big air with, could co virtually anywhere, and could fit a small mattress in the back, the other leaves you panting and giggling after a twisty road.
Overall, I'd say my 1999 M Coupe. You could hoon it all day and mostly enjoy long interstate drives. For carving up twisty roads, I'd rather be in my old '90 Miata.
Gen3 swapped 93 MR2 Turbo. LSD and Spec clutch. Dump the clutch and that thing would just dig in and flat boogie. Best memory was setting FTD at the import night autox, driving straight across the paddock to the drag strip after my last run and cut a .01RT and 1.7 60' and 13.0 @ 105 in a pretty much stock car on street tires. I know there are faster cars out there, but it was a lot of fun.

Ether my '80 RX-7 or my '89 Golf. Both were silly fun to drive.
Oddly enough, both made about 100hp and weighed about 2200lb.
Tie between GTV6 and R32 Skyline and Skyline would win out simply because it was in better condition, faster, and handles better. And I can actually find aftermarket for it.
Other cars i've had that were fun were 350Z, WRX, and 14 Mustang GT
owned: Then - 1969 TVR Vixen S2 - when I was young, and could fit Now - Surreptitious

Yes, he is:
Owned: hard to say, I've had so many which were fun in their own ways. But probably my favorites were my '79 X 1/9 and '82 RX7. My last MGB was a blast in the rain; the rear would hang out just so and it could be steered with the throttle. The Jensen is not as loose as the B but it's a lot faster, it makes pothole dodging great fun!
The most fun car I've ever driven would have to be a Westfield MegaBusa. Damn that thing is insane and it had me thinking about selling the fleet... Next would be the NA$CAR COT from a Richard Petty school because I love pure race cars, the Jensenator slots in there too. It's fun but is not as 'on the edge' feeling as the other two.
I've had several that were a ton of fun.
My daily driver for 20 years was a turbo Fiero GT - faster than lots of more expensive cars and a complete stealth beast.
My old fibregass Jensen CV8 was also a hoot - 375 bhp of sixpack big block Chrysler engine made it a great highway car - a couple of times I lured American iron with low diff ratios on the highway until they topped out at around 120 and then just waved and matted it, leaving them in the dust wondering what the heck had gutted them.
My current street driver Solstice is capable of 1/4 into the 12s and is a great handling car and also a lot of fun.
My old Lambo makes sounds like nothing else.
They all have their own charm.
pure fun would have been the 81 marquis. only mod that wasnt a spare part was the 3.73 geared trac loc 8.8 it killed many many tires.
https://youtu.be/ZyDlL33Oo5o
it ran a best ever of 15.6 so it wasnt fast, just fun.

All the technology in the world and we drive around in a Ford P.O.S.
Owned: 1) 2006 Lotus Elise 2) 1984 RX-7 GSL-SE 4 port "truck" housings with holley 4 barrel, RB exhaust, RB suspension 3) 1978 RX-3 SP built to ITA specs, ISC drivetrain, won races and championships with that car
Driven: 430 Ferrari
Ridden: 1968 Ford Fairlane 500 with bench seat, 200ci and 3spd and mechanical speedometer that was easily disconnected

Tough question, I am on car #27.
I would have to say it was probably my 2003 330i ZHP, it just did everything well except for comfort, but the handling, power and sound were addicting.
Air cooled 911, once you drive one you understand why you need to own one. I've driven many muscle/pony/sports cars that were all fun in their own way. Motorcycles will put a smile on your face every time. Right now I'm longing for something exceptionally simple, lightweight, without a need for a lot of power. Exocet, bugeye, Fisher fury, Ginetta G4, something I make from scratch, any of which might get Yamaha R1 power.
