I'm actually kinda serious. Who's in? We could co-op it and everyone puts in what they can afford and they get a percentage share of it.

I've been to this mall. I say keep it in Pennsylvania so we can do winter car sports. ;-)

Can we move it to Florida?
Same thought I had. I was thinking Sanford Mall would be perfect but I *think* it just sold to a new developer, and the locals are oddly protective of Oveido. I also do not trust PA's insanely archaic vehicle laws.
"New Oldsmobiles are in early"
You buy the facility and level 1/2 to 3/4s of the buildings. Remaining buildings are facilities. You build various tracks on the cleared acreage.
What do you do to bring in traffic in the winter?

It doesn't snow much here anymore. Race all winter. If it does snow... duh... race in the snow :D
Other ideas - rent out space to enthusiasts like us, storage for toys and race cars, live/work space, mechanic space, maker space, and part of it could be all of our old surplus parts for sale in a sorta antique shop format.

Dixie Square Mall in Harvey, IL. You probably could've bought it for next to nothing.
Oh man. I have so many ideas. Turn the parking lot into a massive auto cross course. Insider you could have karts on one floor and maybe a drag strip (indoor drag strip? Why not?). Another floor could have old school parts stores/tuner shops. You could probably do a small hotel too so people could have a place to stay during track days.
Or we could just buy Willow Springs:

When I was living in SW Ontario we had a winter autocross series on a lot by the airport. We had to go out with a truck and break trail a couple of events so the low cars could run. It's just rallycross on snow....great fun.
I dunno. The biggest parking lot at this place is like 700 x 200, which doesn't make for much of an autocross. I say we pass on this one and wait for a large, more suitable mall to fail. It can't be long. They're all dropping like flies.
Bidding starts at $2.1M... For fun, let's say it goes to $3M, for easy figuring.
Assuming we get track time proportional to what we contribute, for every $1000 I buy in for, I'll get roughly three hours of track time - per year - never mind living on the wrong coast. I'll have to think about it.

Yellow is maker space. Pink is a road circuit. Red is pit road. Green is the old Sears tire and auto care with about 10 bays. Orange X is autocross once Sears is demolished. Orange square is the surplus store. Purple square is the brewery/restaurant. Blue is rental/storage. The entire roof perimeter (and the autox area) can be spectator seating.
This is what the other bidders would like to do
the towers in light are one the site of Brentwood Mall in Burnaby BC

I'm a big fan of derelict malls.

Do you have more info on the Dobermans (Dobermen?)? Sounds like some good reading
