When you've got a few minutes to spare, check out the in-car video of the opening laps of our 2011 NASA Championships race in a Factory Five Challenge. I had an awesome time driving this beast, can't wait for the revised-spec cars with 120 more horses starting this year. (Of course you can read all about that in the current issue of GRM, February 2012.)

Enjoyed the article, Scott - it definitely captured the spirit of the FFR Challenge series. Can't wait to sit down and view the in-car footage...

Nice driving! You were working #62 pretty hard.

And for a totally unnecessary curiosity question: Why was the wheel offset left so much when you were straight line driving? I wondered if the car was that far out of alignment or if it was done purposely for leverage b/c most turns were right-handers.

The car kind of came together at the last minute, and the builder had to deal with some massive flooding of his house the day he was supposed to be driving out to Ohio, so I think a few details got left out. Honestly, the wheel was probably from a different car and the hex hub didn't line up, we just never bothered resetting the tape to indicate vertical. It's easy enough to tell when the car is going straight!

Good thing they didn't have a bounce and play... I keed, I keed. Great driving, and having read about the power increase and handling fix, I now really want one.

Just after 2 minutes in... That red one way up there. It looks to me that he went off track, kept his foot in it through the sand and then spun immediately upon re-entry to the paved track, right in front of you! That was nuts!

They do look like they need more power though. The updated cars should be quite a bit faster (and cooler).
