My favorite go-to part is a GM 12si 1-wire alternator. They can be found rebuilt for $30, come in up to 87 amps, and are very easy to adapt and rebuild. Not quite as flashy as a 3-lb geo alternator, but rock solid and powerful.

The Prius fuel bladder is about $100 at a junkyard, holds 10 gallons or so.
If you ever do a major relocation and aren't sure what you need...
K&N air filter #RU 1460. I got one for my 83 BMW 320i. That particular "intake system" merely clamped the cylinder shaped air filter onto the throttle body and called it good. I've used that same filter - the exact same one, even - on many other cars, just clamping it onto either the throttle body or a stock air hose. The $2004 Challenge Saturn SL2 had one of these, though modified with a small hole in the end cap so the air temp sensor would slip in and get an accurate reading.

My favorite "part" is a parts book with a dimensional cross-reference in the back. Usually auto parts stores will give old catalogs away.
Awesome to have are shock catalogs, the TRW spring catalog (rate/diameter/length/type), and brake catalogs. Although, they aren't always so accurate. Allegedly, the early IRS aircooleds had a .625 bore master cylinder, but online catalogs always list them as .750 bore. The search for a dual-circuit .625 master continues!
gm metric calipers - have them on my old ford bronco and mg. Lots of cheap brackets/adaptors. New calipers are about $15. Circle track catalogs are handy too.
Which Metro alternator is a one wire, 3lb, 40 amp alternator? Everything I've got here is listed at 55 amps and has multiple wires.

I am running gm calipers on my 68' Fairlane with some adapters and ranger rotors. Cheaper and newer than other upgrades and I found a set of hawk pads on eBay for $25. Can't find good pads for the old ford calipers.
I went through all the different cars I've pulled parts from and it covers the 60s through the 00s.
